Who is behind Cycler?
The current policy identifies Niche Box Group Ltd as the intermediary trading as Cycler and names UK Oasis Group as its principal. Check the legal names in your quote and the FCA service. A trading brand, intermediary and risk-carrying insurer have different roles; a quote should make all three clear.
Cycler also offers a Muc-Off partnership route. That relationship should not be counted as a completely independent insurer when estimating how widely you have compared the market. Compare the actual contract and final price rather than assuming two branded journeys mean two different risk providers.

What cover can you select?
Cycler advertises theft and accidental or malicious damage, with options involving accessories, personal accident, liability, hire, breakdown, overseas use and competition. The schedule records the selections that apply. Its homepage also advertises multi-bike and no-claims discounts; neither establishes the lowest price for your household.
An equipment policy answers a different question from compensation for an injury. List separately the bike replacement amount, injury benefits, liability limit and transport costs you need, then check each selected section. A broad marketing description is insufficient evidence that every benefit has been bought.

Locks, photographs and unattended bicycles
The September 2026 wording requires original photographs within 14 days of inception. Keep the original files and follow its upload instructions. The homepage requires a Gold or Diamond rated Sold Secure lock away from home. The precise locking method and rules for garages, communal areas and vehicles also matter.
Read “unattended” using the policy’s specific definition: it refers to a bicycle not being used or held in accordance with its security requirements. The away-from-home storage conditions explain how it must be secured. Ask how those rules apply to your station, workplace or public rack, and confirm the permitted parking duration. An everyday meaning of unattended can differ from the contract’s defined term.

Trips, commuting and competitive riding
Check that commuting, competition and any overseas extension appear on the schedule. The current wording describes an optional worldwide allowance of up to 90 days in a policy period; that is a total allowance, not automatically 90 days for every holiday.
Describe a timed sportive, triathlon or race accurately. Ask separately about bicycle damage, liability, transit and transition-area storage. A bicycle accepted as an e-bike must also meet the policy definition; describing a motor vehicle as an electric bicycle does not make it eligible.

Price, excess and cancellation
Get the claim excess from the actual schedule. When comparing instalments, remember that Cycler describes an annual contract. Monthly collection does not establish a right to stop paying after a month. Its terms describe recurring payments and automatic renewal unless stopped.
The published administration table lists cancellation charges and a missed-payment charge. Check those figures at checkout and consider the full annual cost, especially if you expect to sell a bicycle soon. An introductory discount is less useful if the contract no longer suits your likely ownership period.

Claims and our practical assessment
Cycler directs customers to its claims contact route and to the policy documents. Have the schedule, original photographs, receipts, lock information, incident date and any police reference ready. Obtain instructions before approving repairs or discarding evidence.
Compare Cycler with Cycleplan for individually selected options and with Sundays for travel structure and security. Our assessment is based on published material; we have not bought the policy, tested a claim or measured service quality. The document questions above are more consequential than a small premium difference.
