Cover4Cycles: review summary
RideIn’s assessment: A relevant price comparison for configurable cover, with an important qualification: it is another Eversure brand. Compare the actual contract and avoid counting brand names as separate independent insurers.

Who owns Cover4Cycles?
Cover4Cycles states that the policy is sold and arranged by Eversure Limited. Its documents page identifies the trading relationship and publishes Eversure’s company and FCA references. The linked policy wording identifies Collinson Insurance as the insurer.
This distinction is useful when comparing with Eversure itself: the two names do not represent completely separate intermediary businesses. They may still produce different quotes or selections. Keep both schedules and compare the insurer, benefits, limits and total cost before treating either as better value.

What does the bicycle policy offer?
The homepage describes theft, accidental and malicious damage and an included accessory allowance that can be increased. The important decision is the complete selection, including how you use the bicycle. Do not treat a headline premium as a price for every activity and rider benefit.
The FAQ presents commuting and competitive use as selections that need to be made for those activities. For a triathlon or sportive, ask exactly which equipment, transition-area losses and entry costs are included. An event bicycle can be insured for leisure use while its competition use remains outside the purchased cover.

New bicycles, used bicycles and underinsurance
The policy distinguishes replacement of items bought new from settlement for used equipment of equivalent age, condition and function. The insured amount remains relevant in both cases. Someone buying a used carbon bike should compare the settlement basis rather than assuming every reference to new-for-old applies to it.
Build a valuation record for the bicycle and any upgrades, keeping major components in the appropriate insured category. Ask whether an expensive spare wheelset is part of the bicycle or separately insured equipment. A short accessories list can produce an avoidable gap even where the frame is adequately valued.

Lock ratings and practical storage
The wording says the required Sold Secure rating is recorded on the certificate. It also distinguishes private premises, outbuildings, communal areas, balconies and vehicles. Security cables supplied with a rated lock should not be assumed to have that lock’s certification.
Check each place you actually leave the bike, including a shared building entrance and the workplace. A strong front door does not answer how a bicycle must be anchored in a communal room. Retain the approved-lock receipt and ask for clarification before relying on an unusual storage arrangement.

Travel, rider benefits and payments
The FAQ lists selectable overseas trip durations and optional public-liability protection. It also describes monthly instalments through Premium Credit where available. Compare the credit agreement, deposit and total repayable with the annual premium.
Some FAQ passages describe benefits differently, including whether personal accident or hire is standard. Use the certificate and full wording to resolve the actual selection and ask the provider if they disagree. Do not rely on a general benefits list as a guarantee. For e-bikes, confirm the policy definition and any conversion rather than assuming every electric model qualifies.
Claims and our practical assessment
The claims page requires ownership evidence and a police reference for theft or malicious damage. It warns that repairs or replacement without prior authorisation may prejudice the claim. Keep the bicycle, lock records and before-and-after photographs available.
Its assessment target is a service aim, not a promise that a disputed or complex claim will be settled within that time. We have not tested the claims service. Compare Cover4Cycles with Sundays and Cycleplan on your selected options, then compare it with Eversure to understand the shared business behind the brands.
Cover4Cycles bicycle insurance: common questions
Is Cover4Cycles a different company from Eversure?
Cover4Cycles is a trading name of Eversure Limited. Compare the actual quote and policy rather than counting it as a wholly separate intermediary.
Does it automatically cover commuting?
The FAQ says commuting use must be selected. Make sure the usage and selected cover appear on the certificate.
Are second-hand bicycles replaced with brand-new ones?
The published wording distinguishes new purchases from used equipment, which is settled by reference to equivalent value, age and condition. Check the quote.
