What matters in the UK
Trail access is nation- and location-specific. Follow current rights-of-way or access guidance and land-manager rules; never translate a US trail class or state rule into a UK recommendation.
For ordinary public-road treatment in Great Britain, confirm usable pedals, no more than 250W continuous rated motor power and assistance that cuts out by 15.5mph. A category name, peak-power claim or selectable speed limit is not proof of compliance.

Access in the UK
In England and Wales, cycles do not have a general right to use public footpaths. Scotland has a different access framework. Check the land manager, signage and current national guidance.
Battery and recovery
Cold, mud, climbing and high assistance increase energy use. Plan a reserve and know how a heavy bike will be moved if the battery, tyre or drivetrain fails away from a road.
