Checks before buying

Start with the regular load and route, then check the closure, carrying system and internal organisation. A larger bag is not automatically more useful if it encourages an uncomfortable load.

• Eighteen litres is enough for a restrained commute, but bulky shoes and winter layers can use it quickly.
• The side phone and mesh pockets are convenient but should not be assumed to protect their contents from rain.
• The PVC build is wipe-clean; inspect welded seams and the roll closure for creasing or damage over time.

Protecting the contents in real rain

The listing specifies waterproof fabric, welded seams and a roll closure, but gives no IP rating. Close it correctly and use an internal dry pouch for irreplaceable electronics.

Waterproofing depends on correct use. Fold or roll the closure as instructed, keep grit away from the coating, and inspect seams and high-flex areas. Use a separate dry pouch for a laptop, medication or anything that cannot tolerate a single leak.
