Checks before buying
Start with the regular load and route, then check the closure, carrying system and internal organisation. A larger bag is not automatically more useful if it encourages an uncomfortable load.
- A 39-litre bag is genuinely large. Do not treat the available volume as a target carrying weight.
- The Messenger Bag uses a two-strap backpack harness, not the single cross-body strap many riders associate with a messenger bag.
- The Commuter-Bag Urban mounts on a rear rack and is included as a lower-sweat alternative, not as a worn courier bag.
Protecting the contents in real rain
The current Messenger models are sold as waterproof courier backpacks. The Commuter-Bag Urban is a bike-mounted alternative whose external pocket is not waterproof, so sensitive items belong in the protected main compartment.
Waterproofing depends on correct use. Fold or roll the closure as instructed, keep grit away from the coating, and inspect seams and high-flex areas. Use a separate dry pouch for a laptop, medication or anything that cannot tolerate a single leak.
