Cold weather, hills, repeated starts, soft tyres, luggage, rider mass and high assistance can all reduce distance substantially.

Compare batteries in watt-hours, not only in kilometres. A sensible owner plans around the hardest regular return trip, keeps a reserve for detours and battery ageing, and charges with the supplied compatible charger in a dry place with a working smoke alarm. Stop using a battery that is swollen, damaged, unusually hot or has been immersed.

Ride, comfort and handling

The AGO Air’s 80Nm mid-drive and broad tyres make it a more capable hill and load carrier than the lightweight CGO family. Electroheads rated the motor response, range and payload highly, awarding a strong overall score, while identifying weight and saddle comfort as drawbacks.

The chain model’s nine ratios offer the broadest familiar gearing and straightforward workshop support. The belt model substitutes a Shimano Nexus five-speed hub for cleaner operation and reduced routine care; it is an appealing commuter choice, but riders should test whether the ratio range covers their steepest hill.

Equipment and everyday practicality

The core equipment is Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Kenda 700×50C puncture-resistant tyres and a suspension fork. Listed weight is about 24.85kg net for the chain model or 23.5kg for the belt model; equipped weights are higher; the permissible load is 145kg. Tenways positions the fit for riders around approximately 165–195cm, but height is only a starting point. Reach, saddle position, stand-over clearance and control access need checking on the actual bicycle.

The 561.6Wh battery provides useful energy reserve, although a high-torque motor, hills, luggage and cold conditions can consume it quickly. Plan regular charging around the hardest plausible journey rather than the maximum laboratory-style claim.

A 25kg rack enables serious pannier use, but check heel clearance, compatible bags and total system mass. The standard saddle is easy to change if it does not suit, whereas frame fit and daily lifting weight are not.
